We have so much fun showing the farm to friends and newcomers alike. We relish the opportunity to meet so many interesting, diverse, and committed people. With every new visitor, we feel like our own community is widening, new connections are being made, and our dedication to honoring the land and animals is deepening. We can't wait to have you return—or come for the first time!

Seasonal Floral Workshop

In this workshop, we'll gather what's available on the farm and use it to make seasonal swags you can take home to dry and hang for year-round color. You bring a willingness to learn something new, and we'll provide the tools and the space to experiment! The workshop will be led by our own farmer and floral designer Arielle, of Hedgewitch Florals.

Hands-On Butchering Workshop

Paul Servideo joined us in July and wow'd us with his pig butchering demonstration. This time, he will show us several ways to cut up a whole chicken—and you'll get the chance to practice on one yourself to take home.

Note: This workshop requires the purchase of a chicken.

Doodling Station

One of the best ways to access nature is by noticing your environment and creating in response. As usual we'll have a doodle station available where you can enjoy the farm setting while you do some creative play with provided materials. Children and grown-up children welcome.

Live Music!

Before and after dinner, listen to the Hayrollers, a Hudson Valley based traditional bluegrass and old-time country swing band.

Fat Apple Eats

We really love our new smoker, so we'll be using it to smoke some of our heritage breed turkeys. We'll also be cooking up some of our hams and sausages. And we'll also be featuring a wide variety of tasty sides with locally-procured produce—much of it grown right here on the farm.

Morning Yoga

Camping at Fat Apple gives you a chance to enjoy the great outdoors, but your back may not fully appreciate it. Sunday morning you’ll get the chance to relieve that tension with gentle flow yoga with Julie Drexler Johnson.
